Automatic sealing machines (such as plastic bag sealing machines, aluminum foil sealing machines) are widely used in the food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and other industries to quickly seal packaging bags or containers. Mastering the correct operating method can improve efficiency and avoid equipment damage.
1. Preparation before use
(1). Check the equipment status
Power supply and switch: Confirm that the voltage matches (220V/110V) and the power cord is not damaged.
Sealing parameters: Adjust the temperature, pressure, and speed according to the packaging material (PE/PP/aluminum foil).
Cleaning the sealing strip: Wipe the heating strip with alcohol cotton to remove residue (old glue, plastic chips).
(2). Select the appropriate sealing mode
Sealing Type | Application | Temperature Range |
Normal Temperature Sealing | Thin Plastic Bags (<0.1mm) | 100-150°C |
High Temperature Sealing | Thick Plastic Bags, Aluminum Foil Composite Film | 150-220°C |
Pulse Sealing | Fusible Materials (e.g., PVC) | Instantaneous High Temperature + Cooling |
2. Standard operating procedures
(1). Start preheating
① Turn on the power and press the switch.
② Set the temperature (refer to the packaging material instructions) and wait for the indicator light to show that the preheating is complete (usually 1-3 minutes).
(2). Sealing operation
① Place the packaging bag:
Place the bag opening flat in the sealing groove to avoid wrinkles (otherwise it is easy to leak).
Leave a 5~10mm sealing edge distance (to prevent the contents from contaminating the sealing area).
② Start sealing:
Manual type: Press the handle/foot switch and hold it for 1~3 seconds before releasing it.
Automatic type: The sensor automatically seals after detecting the bag opening (sensor sensitivity needs to be adjusted).
③ Cooling and shaping:
After sealing, let it stand for 2~3 seconds before moving to avoid cracking of the uncooled sealing edge.
(3). Quality inspection
Sealing test:
Squeeze the package to check for air leaks (food bags can be tested by filling water).
Edge appearance:
Smooth, no bubbles, no burn marks.
3. Common Problems and Solutions
Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
Weak seal | Temperature too low/Insufficient pressure | Increase temperature or pressure |
Sealing edge burns | Temperature too high/Dwell time too long | Lower temperature or shorten sealing time |
Sealing machine does not work | Power failure/Damaged heating element | Check circuit or replace heating element |
Wrinkles after sealing | Bag opening not flattened/Excessive speed | Manually straighten bag opening or reduce conveyor speed |
4. Safety and maintenance points
(1). Safety operation specifications
Do not touch the heating area: High temperature during sealing (up to 200℃), avoid burns.
Do not seal metal/hard objects: The sealing strip may be damaged.
Maintain ventilation: Heating plastic may release trace gases.
(2). Daily maintenance
Clean the sealing strip residue after turning off the machine.
Check whether the screws are loose.
Monthly deep maintenance:
Lubricate the transmission parts (such as guide rails, bearings).
Calibrate the temperature sensor (verify with an infrared thermometer).
